After wet granulation, excess moisture must be removed before the material proceeds to final blending and compression. Wet granules enter the dryer above a perforated distribution plate. Filtered, heated air rises through the plate and lifts the particles into motion. This movement is called fluidization. Air transfers heat to the granules and carries evaporated moisture through the exhaust system. The dried material leaves the chamber for the next processing stage.
Choose batch drying for defined production lots or continuous drying for a steady material feed. Finetech’s FTFG batch dryers cover laboratory through production-scale loads. Selection starts with the amount and bulk density of wet material, followed by its temperature limit and moisture target. The feeding and discharge arrangement determines how much handling operators perform between cycles.

Include the bulk density, particle-size range, and maximum product temperature the material can tolerate. Any solvent use or combustible-dust risk should also be disclosed during the quotation stage so the equipment can be specified for the intended process and operating conditions.
No. The FTFG series has manufacturer-rated capacities from 5 to 500 kg per batch. Confirm the loading basis for your material. Useful hourly output also depends on moisture removal, inlet-air conditions, loading, discharge, and cleaning time.
Very fine or sticky powders may fluidize poorly or collect heavily on exhaust filters. Heat-sensitive products need control of actual product temperature, which differs from inlet-air temperature. Assess these materials through trials before choosing the dryer and operating limits.
Granulating and coating require a processor equipped with the appropriate spray system. Finetech offers a separate multifunctional fluid bed processor for these operations. Specify the required spray arrangement and working load. Drying capacity does not establish coating capacity.
Product filters deserve particular attention because retained fines can carry over into the next batch. Verify cleaning of the chamber, distribution plate, seals, and filters. Some processes need dedicated filter sets, followed by documented cleaning checks and complete dry-out.
Allow space for the dryer, air-handling equipment, exhaust ducting, and access to remove filters and the product container. Obtain a model-specific utility schedule covering electricity, the selected heat source, compressed air, and water and drainage if wash-in-place is ordered.
Request a factory acceptance test (FAT) report covering moisture results, batch duration, product recovery, controls, and safety checks. Include calibration and material records in the purchase specification. Agree on qualification support separately. Factory testing alone does not validate your site’s process.
