Semi-Automatic Capsule Filling Machine Change Parts

Tabla de contenido

On a máquina llenadora de cápsulas semiautomática, you need to swap parts if you want to switch between capsule sizes. This means a specific set of components has to come out and a differently sized set has to go in before the machine can run the new capsule size at all.

This is why it’s important to have the right change parts on hand before the changeover. Here are the change parts you need for a semi-automatic machine and what each one does.

Common Change Parts in a Semi-Automatic Capsule Filling Machine

A handful of components are behind most of the wear and changeover work on a semi-automatic capsule filler. Here’s a quick look at what each does before going through them one by one.

Parte Función
Plato para la alimentación con cápsulasFeeds empty capsules from the hopper into the machine for processing
Bloque de orientaciónAccurate capsule positioning, anti‑adhesive, minimizes capsule jamming.
Empujador orientadorPushes correctly oriented capsules into position, cap up and body down
Upper Tray (Cap Tray)Holds the capsule caps in position while the bodies are filled
Lower Tray (Body Tray)Holds the empty capsule bodies upright and in place during filling
Regulating RodsSet fill depth by controlling how far the powder bed extends into each capsule body
Locking and Ejection PlateRejoins the filled body with its cap, locks it shut, and ejects the finished capsule
PTFE PartsExcellent anti‑stick, heat‑resistant and corrosion‑proof performance

Let’s briefly discuss each of these now.

1. Capsule Feeding Plate

The capsule loading ring is where the changeover process starts. Empty capsules are poured into a hopper above the machine, which feeds them into the processing cycle in a controlled, steady stream.

It’s sized to the exact capsule format running through the machine, so a size change means this plate has to change too.

2. Orienting Block

Bloque de orientación
Bloque de orientación.

El Bloque de orientación is a precision-machined component within the capsule sowing/orientation & feeding mechanism of a semi-automatic capsule filling machine. It is the part that physically corrects the direction of randomly fed empty capsules so every capsule enters the filling ring body-down, cap-up.

3. Orienting Pusher

Empujador orientador

Once the orienting clock has each capsule facing the right way, the orienting pusher takes over and pushes it into position. It aligns the cap up and body down, so the capsules are ready for the next stage.

This part works in tandem with the orienting clock. The two are typically checked and swapped together whenever tamaño de la cápsula or format changes.

4. Upper Tray (Cap Tray)

Upper Tray (Cap Tray)
Upper Tray (Cap Tray).

Once the loading ring separates a capsule into body and cap, the cap needs somewhere to sit while its matching body goes off to get filled. The upper tray or cap tray handles exactly that. It holds every cap steady and in its own fixed position.

This cap tray is one of the parts that must be swapped as a matched set whenever the product line changes capsule formats.

5. Lower Tray (Body Tray)

Lower Tray (Body Tray)
Lower Tray (Body Tray).

While the cap waits above, the empty capsule body sits upright in the lower tray, or body tray, directly below it. The body tray does the physical work of keeping each body stable while powder gets dosed into it.

Like the cap tray, the body tray is sized to the exact diameter of the capsule body in use. It’s swapped alongside the cap tray any time the capsule size changes, since the two are designed to work as a matched pair.

6. Regulating Rods

Regulating Rods
Regulating Rods.

The regulating rods control how deep the powder bed sits inside each capsule body during filling, which directly sets how much powder ends up in the capsule. Adjusting or swapping these rods is one of the main ways fill weight gets calibrated for a specific capsule size or dose.

Because they work at the exact tolerance of a specific capsule format, a size change usually means the rods need resetting or replacing to match.

7. Locking Pin Plate, Ejection Plate

Locking& Ejection Plate

The locking and ejection plate marks the last stop in the cycle, doing three jobs in quick succession.

First, it pushes the now-filled body upward until it meets its waiting cap, then applies enough force to lock the two halves, and lastly ejects the finished capsule out of the machine.

Because it’s applying physical force to the capsule during locking, this plate has to be sized and calibrated correctly. Too much force on a smaller capsule can crack or damage it, while too little on a larger one won’t lock it securely.

8. PTFE Parts

PTFE Parts
PTFE Parts.

PTFE parts are the guide bushes, sliding sleeves, and contact components made from PTFE (Teflon) rather than metal. They are used anywhere the machine needs low friction without introducing wear debris into the process.

A PTFE bush sized for a larger capsule size won’t seat or guide a smaller one correctly. That’s why a size change on the line calls for a matched set of PTFE parts along with the rest of the changeover components.

How Often Should You Replace or Restock Change Parts?

Change parts don’t wear out on a schedule. They get swapped whenever the capsule size changes, so the real question isn’t how often; it’s how many sets you need on hand.

If you are running one capsule size, you only need one set. However, if you are running multiple capsule sizes, then you need a dedicated set ready to go for each size you’re dealing with, or a changeover turns into a wait for parts.

Never Run Short on Parts Anymore

Machine downtime usually comes from waiting on a part that should’ve already been on the shelf. Any of the change parts can stall a production line for hours if the replacement isn’t already in hand.

This is why every máquina llenadora de cápsulas semiautomática from Finetech comes with change parts upfront. You get the parts your machine needs from day one, so a scheduled changeover never turns into unplanned downtime.
